"The best travel insurance I have ever bought"
"My daughter was on holiday in Paphos and took severely ill. Nat from World First reassured her that all medical expenses would be covered, offered brilliant advice and went way beyond what I have come to expect from customer service in the UK. Thank you World First for the professional, brilliant, compassionate and unobtrusive way you dealt with our claim. I will never use any other company and have become a customer for life."

Why travel cover is a travel essential
Wherever you go, getting good travel insurance is vital. Even in Europe, where your EHIC card will cover you for the same medical treatment locals are entitled to, you still need travel insurance. If something goes wrong and you need treatment abroad the costs can be astronomical. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office – which regularly warns UK travellers about the perils of travelling uninsured – lists the cost of common injuries in Europe for British travellers. So how much could it cost you? Treating a sprained ankle in Corfu? Approx. £500. Stitches in Tenerife? Approx. £500. An MRI scan in Ibiza? Approx. £1,000. Emergency surgery for a broken leg in Palma, Spain? Approx. £6,145. An air ambulance in southern Spain / Canaries? Approx. £25,000.
Choose your policy for the way you travel
It's quite simple. We offer a number of policies for the type of trip you are going on – Back Packing and Long Stay, Single Trip, Winter Sports, Last Minute and Cruise – and then offer different levels of cover for each of those types of policy. Single Trip, Cruise, Annual and Longstay polices have 3 different levels of cover (Economy, Standard and Superior or Long Stay Lite, Long Stay and Longstay Max), whilst Last Minute policies offer Standard and Superior cover. If you are a non-UK resident or are already travelling we can also arrange cover for you through our partners. Click here to see more.
Need a quote for your adventures too? It's included.
Wherever you go and however long you go for, you'll want to have fun when you get there. So it's nice to know that all our policies cover over 150 sports and activities free of charge. That means that you'll be free to go scuba diving, snorkelling, banana boat riding or surfing without having to worry about telling us. Of course if you want to get involved with something that's not covered – like alligator wrestling for example – all you have to do is call. We'll cover it. Seriously!
We also offer specific cover for Winter Sports and Golfing holidays. These offer cover in case you can't ski or play or lose your equipment along the way.
Getting a quote is easier than ever – even with medical conditions
As specialist insurers we have been insuring people with medical conditions for over 30 years. In many cases we have made it possible for many people to travel at all by offering to cover them at a price that's fair. This is especially important for people who have been ill with cancer, heart problems, HIV or even those who are pregnant. We also cover people up to the age of 100 for single trips.
Getting a quote for cover is easy with our online medical screening. Questions are simple and it only takes a few minutes. Likewise, if you prefer to talk to someone, we're open from Monday to Friday from 09.00 until 17.30 and on Saturdays from 09.00 until 16.00.
