Brits 'choosing cheaper holiday destinations to save cash'
15 October 2009 10:53
Budget-conscious Brits searching for somewhere to take a holiday are looking at destinations such as Morocco and Turkey, it has been said.
According to Cheapflights.co.uk, there has been an increase in the number of holidaymakers searching for trips to such destinations.
Global sales director Francesca Ecsery also noted that price comparison sites may be useful in helping Brits secure the best holiday deal that they can.
However, those eager to save cash on a break may find it unwise to scrimp on travel insurance to save cash, as this could leave them out of pocket in the future should they be forced to pay for medical treatment without any cover in place. They may find a better deal if they buy cheap annual travel insurance.
Findings from the Thomson and First Choice Trends Report 2009 showed that people often turn to destination review websites to help them make a choice on where to take a break.
In total, 80 per cent of those surveyed said that they mainly trust the reviews they read.
