Thailand "a haven for beach lovers on a budget"
18 November 2009 07:31
Thailand could be an ideal place to visit for those looking for a bargain holiday which offers them the chance to soak up some sun, it has been said.
According to the International Currency Exchange, Thailand is "certainly maintaining its status as a haven for beach lovers on a budget" and the site is seeing the country consistently high up in its monthly tables of currency orders.
Commenting, head of marketing at the website Andrew Hamilton said: "There are around 53 baht to the pound and you can certainly get by on between 500-600 baht per day which is between £10 and £11, making Thailand very inexpensive. It means that in places such as Bangkok you can treat yourself to a room in a luxury hotel for the night for less than £60."
If Brits manage to bag a break to Thailand for little cash, they could find it wise to use any remaining money to get hold of a backpacker travel insurance policy.
Popular areas of Thailand for Brits to visit include Bangkok and the island of Koh Samui.
