Brits miss tea when on holiday

Britain's biggest home comfort when it comes to travelling is tea, a survey has shown.

An investigation of more than 500 people by Holiday Extras found that nearly 70 per cent of Brits pine for a cup of tea when travelling abroad.

Other food and drink items such as HP sauce, baked beans, Marmite and the famous chocolate Hobnob biscuit also featured highly on the list of British home comforts.

Mike Whiting, managing editor at Holiday Extras, said: "I think that our survey shows the British public's love of its traditional favourites is as strong as ever, they're simply the best.

"You simply cannot beat a nice cup of tea and a biscuit."

Another survey by the company recently found that 35 per cent of Brits spend between £500 and £1,000 when on holiday.

It was discovered earlier this month that a third of travel insurance claims were due to accidents when skiing or snowboarding.ADNFCR-1320-ID-18781962-ADNFCR
