Cruise operators 'will focus on promotion'
28 September 2009 21:15
Cruise companies are set to focus their energies on promoting their ships this year, which could see Brits tempted to get cruise travel insurance and sail off into the sunset.
According to website CruiseCritic.co.uk, which reviews cruises and ships, 2010 will be an important year for those in the sector.
It noted that the cruise industry will turn to "promoting harder" and introduce offers such as early bird deals and themed cruises.
Managing director of the website Robin Maclear said: "Lots of new ships have been ordered and in an industry where a lot of capacity has been ordered, they will find a way to increase the market."
Such a wide range of ships on the market could mean that people of any age are able to find a cruise which suits both their taste in holidays and budget.
When budgeting for such a trip, Brits may benefit from not having to set money aside for food and drink - which is often included on cruises - but should be careful to leave cash over to pay for their cruise travel insurance.
