Cruise travel insurance 'needed by older passengers'
17 September 2009 19:48
More mature holidaymakers are likely to need cruise travel insurance, while the younger generation heads to the beach, according to research.
Flight comparison website Cheapflights.co.uk has published the findings of its study into traveller habits.
The survey found that 18 to 24-year-olds have no great preference as to their destination, but are more interested in simply taking a break at all.
Older travellers are more likely to require cruise travel insurance as they book a cabin for a break on the waves.
But for many people, an extended beach vacation is the ultimate getaway, as well as providing them with the chance to soak up some sun.
Holiday firm DFDS Seaways points out that there is still time to book a cruise before the end of 2009, with some options specifically tailored to the back end of the year.
For instance, a mini-cruise in Amsterdam gives travellers the chance to sail from the Netherlands back to Newcastle as midnight approaches and welcome in 2010 while at sea.
