Daring Vietnam 'in vogue'
Vietnam has been described as being "in vogue" by a leading travel industry expert.
The south-east Asian country has long been a favourite stop-off on the backpacking trail, but is now starting to appeal to a wider audience.
Evidence of this is seen in statistics which show that Vietnam's tourist industry is expected to create another two million jobs over the next ten years.
Caroline Phillips, Explore's product manager for Asia, said: "Vietnam has recently seen massive development of its tourist infrastructure - including accommodation, internal flight networks and roads - yet still represents excellent value for money.
"[Vietnam is] in vogue as a slightly more daring destination than some its neighbours."
Like many far-flung and exotic destinations, it is always recommended that fully comprehensive travel insurance is booked beforehand.
A spokesman for a leading insurance company earlier this week said that not taking out travel insurance was "crazy".
