Travel insurance important for Asia-bound businesses

Companies should ensure that they purchase travel insurance for business trips, as more employees are being sent to faraway lands in search of materials.

According to Diversity Travel, an independent trip management company, business travellers are heading to locations such as Asia in search of corporate resources.

John Prentice, sales director at the company, explained that charities, wildlife parks, zoos, chemical companies and clothing companies are all becoming interested in travel to the Far East.

"Probably the biggest thing that affects them is a lot of travel companies who generalise don't have the specialist knowledge to get them there via the easiest route which is quite often the cheapest route," he suggested.

However, businesses could also find that they are adversely affected if they choose to send employees to exotic destinations without the appropriate level of travel insurance.

This month, the Daily Telegraph reported that Lord Turner, chairman of the committee on climate change, will consider introducing personal flight limits for people in order to lower emissions from the aviation industry.ADNFCR-1320-ID-19026732-ADNFCR
