Tourists 'discovering' Brazil

Visitors from the UK and the rest of the world have finally "discovered" Brazil as a holiday destination, it has been claimed.

A spokesperson for the Embassy of Brazil in London said that there had so far been little promotion of the country to British tourists, something that is now changing.

"Brazil has never been promoted as a destination," he said, explaining that it is looked upon as something of an undiscovered secret.

"It seems like the outside world has discovered Brazil, not just as a place to visit, but as a place to invest on the property market."

The spokesperson explained that only in the last few years had the country begun to invest money into making people aware of its charms.

Earlier this week, the World Travel & Tourism Council announced that it will be holding its forthcoming world travel and tourism summit in Florianopolis, the capital city of Santa Catarina State in southern Brazil. ADNFCR-1320-ID-18884021-ADNFCR
