Brits 'searching for good value holidays'
28 October 2009 10:01
British travellers are still looking to grab good value holiday bargains in the wake of the economic downturn, but need to remain flexible as they search the market for low-cost breaks and cheap travel insurance.
Marketing director at On the Beach Alistair Daly said: "We believe that holidaymakers will increase their holiday spend this year but they will be searching for good value holidays. All inclusive holidays will be more popular than ever as holidaymakers look to reduce in-resort costs."
He noted that Brits are increasingly flexible with their getaway choices and many are turning to travelling outside of peak times in order to bag a bargain.
However, when searching for the best ways to save money on a holiday, Brits may find it unwise to resort to cutting back on travel insurance - as this could leave them out of pocket in the long-term.
Figures from travelsupermarket.com showed that in the last quarter, the average amount that Brits spent on a break increased by four per cent.
