Lake District 'a year round place'
06 December 2009 19:05
The Lake District is an ideal place for a holiday at any time of the year, it has been claimed.
According to public relations manager at Cumbria Tourism Julie Darroch, there are many places in the Lake District that are ideal for a visit at any time of the year, regardless of the weather conditions.
"There are an abundance of year-round attractions, events, shops, pubs and restaurants, many of which perform even better if the weather isn't at its best," she said.
Her comments followed the findings of a survey from OnePoll, which showed that the Lake District is the fifth most popular holiday hotspot for people to visit in Europe.
Holidaymakers tempted to the area by the poll may find that UK holiday cancellation travel insurance is an ideal investment to make, as problems can just as easily occur on a domestic break within the UK as they can on a trip overseas.
