Families are becoming a lot more free-spending when they set off on holiday because having the chance to spend some quality time with other family members is highly important to them, it has been stated.
Alyson Cook, editor of Luxury Travel Magazine, has said in the current climate where individuals are reluctant to go without their annual holiday, people are also happy to splash out to have enjoyable times with their families.

She said: "I think particularly with the vagaries of the weather the holiday is becoming more sacrosanct in their budget. I also think it has a lot to do with the emphasis on family holidays now.

"Increasingly people are cash-rich but time-poor and the time that they spend with their family on holiday is increasingly important to them. They are reluctant to disappoint the family unit which can also include grandparents for luxury holidays these days."

Holidaymakers who do not want to disappoint the family are advised to remember to take out travel insurance to stop the holiday turning into a nightmare if any incidents occur.

Research carried out by ebookers.com stated that half of a study of 1,003 people considered going on holiday as important or absolutely necessary.
