European destinations 'still firm favourites'
Group travel insurance may be a wise investment for those people choosing to visit destinations such as Greece or Cyprus, after one travel expert noted that such countries are firm favourites with British families.
According to accommodation provider Kids in the Med, families searching for the ideal place to jet off to for a sunny break are still opting for countries such as Greece, Portugal and Cyprus.
Travelling with a large family could make group holiday insurance a good option, to give parents piece of mind that the financial costs of the treatment of any illness may be at least partially covered.
Commenting on the favoured countries, Emma Richings, senior product manager of Kids in the Med, said: "Not only are they well known family destinations close to home, but the properties have offered great value for money."
Recent research from Teletext Holidays also suggested that children may have quite a lot of influence over family breaks, with 80 per cent of youngsters saying that their parents let them have a say in where the family goes.
