Stag do travellers advised to get insured
26 January 2009 09:40
Fun seeking stag do travellers have been advised to take out a travel insurance to cover them for any dangerous events they may take part in by Designaventure, a company that specialises in stag and hen weekends.
Anna Makin Made, project manager of the firm, stated that those looking to take part in activities like lesbian mud wrestling and machine gun shooting which are currently some of the most popular activities for stag do breaks, should always re-read their travel insurance first.
She said that everyone should always take out their own travel insurance policy and check that they are covered for the activities they are doing, because sometimes the small print prevents a person from being covered in particular activities.
Ms Makin Made added: "Sometimes there's a little clause saying they don't cover for machine gun shooting, so they need to check with their insurance company that they are covered."
Statistics from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office from 2005 found that 70 per cent of young British people preferred to spend their stag and hen occasions abroad.
