Better holiday budget planning with fuel cost calculator
26 January 2009 08:00
Holidaymakers looking to save both the environment and their money have been offered a new service which they may find of interest.
With as many as ten million Brits set to head abroad in the coming months, the website kayak.co.uk had launched its fuel cost calculator.
Using the calculator, potential travellers can discover which vehicle is the best for the environment (and their wallets) at the click of a button.
Lincoln Jackson, director of product management at kayak.com, said: "Whether consumers are trying to save money or be more environmentally friendly … the fuel cost calculator can be used to find the best bargain - which is sometimes a more expensive car class with higher petrol mileage."
Holidaymakers looking to save money should also consider taking out specialist travel insurance, while unlike most insurance, can be tailored to the individual traveller's needs.
Research earlier this month revealed that a quarter of Brits would consider cutting back on travel insurance in a bid to save money.
