Britons 'ignoring' travel insurance for winter sports holidays
Britons aiming to avoid the high street and leave the wet UK behind are being urged to make sure they don't forget their travel insurance for a last-minute winter holiday.
A survey by Direct Line has revealed that 1.15 million people from the UK headed off on a skiing holiday last season, although an Esure study found that one in four Britons take to the slopes without any cover at all.
And many ski travel insurance specialists are warning potential travellers that not only is travel insurance cover essential, but that the right policy is needed for people taking part in different winter sports.
"Travel insurance policies can show significant variation in both level of cover and price, so it is always worth obtaining a number of quotes and comparing deals," said Fair Investment director, James Caldwell.
"This way you can fully enjoy your New Year break in the knowledge that should any problems arise, your insurance company will be ready to act on your behalf."
