Japan 'rising in popularity' with skiers
13 November 2009 07:31
British skiers are an emerging market for the winter sports sector in Japan, it has been claimed.
According to the Japan Ski Experience, Brits who enjoy skiing are now more likely to see the Asian country as a great place to jet off to for a winter sports holiday.
Before they travel, Brits may want to buy a winter sports travel insurance policy and ensure they have cover for any potential medical treatment they might need should they have an accident on the slopes.
Lindsay Colbert, from the Japan Ski Experience, said: "British people are starting to learn more about the powder snow and the excellent world class ski resorts that are in Japan and if you combine that with the culture, a lot of people want to go there."
She went on to say that many people still do not realise that Japan is ideal for skiing.
However, once Brits have got ski travel insurance and taken a winter sports break to the country, they could find it becomes their favourite place for a thrill-filled holiday.
