Off-piste ski resorts 'will be popular'
12 November 2009 11:48
This winter, Brits will be increasingly visiting ski resorts which are "off the beaten track", it has been claimed.
According to the Ski Club of Great Britain, those going skiing this winter will be increasingly looking for ski resorts which are not regarded as traditional places to travel to for winter sports.
Commenting on skiing holidays in France, Vanessa Fisher from the club said: "We're finding that resorts which are further down the valley, like Sainte-Foy [in the French Alps] for example which is down the valley from Val d'Isere [are popular]."
Regardless of whether Brits choose to take a skiing holiday at a popular and well-known winter sports resort or somewhere where they can escape the tourist crowds, they may find that ski travel insurance is a wise investment.
Winter sports travel insurance may prove to be an even better idea for winter sports-loving Brits, as it could at least partially help cover the medical costs of treatment for injuries obtained on the slopes.
