Surge in late bookings reported
Travel insurance may be next on the shopping list of those who have bagged last minute holidays in the sun.
And findings from one travel firm suggest that more Brits are holding off until the last second and booking cheap deals nearer to departure time.
According to Travel Counsellors, there has been a rise in late holiday bookings.
Head of aviation at the firm, Darren McCormick, said that there are more bargains than ever to be had at the moment, especially for long-haul trips.
Whether taking a long or short-haul trip, travel insurance to protect against the financial cost of any issues may be a wise investment.
Figures from youtravel.com show that there has been growth in bookings for holidays to many European destinations - including Portugal and Greece.
Turkish regions are also proving popular with sun-seeking Brits, with 11 per cent more people booking a holiday to Bodrum this year.
