Workers at London City Airport are to be balloted on strike action
Passengers may have to examine their travel insurance documents after it emerged talks had failed to resolve a row over pay and conditions at London City Airport.
The GMB union said ground staff at the airport are to be balloted for strikes, which is likely to have a knock-on effect on flights.
The union said staff will vote over the next few weeks on whether to launch a campaign of industrial action.
They are complaining that they have not had a pay rise since 2008.
The workers are employed by an agency, Aviation Resources, and provide check-in and dispatch services for CityJet, Air France and KLM flight.
GMB officer Stephanie Attwood said: "If the members vote in favour there will be a strike at London City Airport in March."
