Benidorm is appealing to a new crowd, according to research
Benidorm is being transformed into a trendy and desirable holiday hotspot, according to research.
Holiday Hypermarket said people are starting to look at the Costa Blanca resort in a different light and now regard it highly for entertainment and fashion.
A survey found two-thirds of customers would "go to Benidorm this summer" for such things as entertainment and beaches.
A separate poll by Very reinforced the suggestion Benidorm had gone upmarket, with people going to the destination this year spending highly ahead of their holiday on clothes and other essentials.
It was found Benidorm holidaymakers packed swimsuits and top-end fashion items to the costs of up to £644 - however they're also advised to save some cash for
travel insurance cover for their new purchases.
E-commerce manager at Holiday Hypermarket, Calum Macdonald, said: "Benidorm has come to represent British summer holidays abroad in Spain, whether that means relaxing on sandy beaches, enjoying the water parks or booking a flamenco show.
