Green issues are becoming more important with travellers, one expert says
Green issues are becoming more important to British tourists, according to an expert.
Martin Couchman, deputy chief executive of the British Hospitality Association, said an increase in "green tourism business wings" was fuelling an increase in interest in green travel in general among travellers.
He said tourist boards are working on boosting their eco credentials as demand grows for sustainable package holidays.
Wherever you are planning to head for your trip there are some great
worldwide travel insurance policies available.
Mr Couchman called on the Government to introduce softer regulations aimed at making sustainable businesses more attractive for tourism boards
He added: "We've got sustainability as one of our own objectives.
"Some of it you can do yourself, some of it you need the involvement of the trust you're with."
