Florence has emerged as the top family holiday destination in Europe
People planning a summer getaway may like to visit Florence, which has emerged as the top family holiday destination in Europe.
According to a survey conducted by TripAdvisor, the Italian city is ideal for family holidays. It has left behind places like Edinburgh and London to top the list.
Those thinking of taking out a
travel insurance policy and heading abroad may be interested to learn that other top destinations include Berlin, Barcelona, Rome, Vienna, Paris, Budapest and Istanbul.
The poll was carried out for the TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Family Awards programme.
Spokesperson Emma O'Boyle said destinations in the UK are also gaining popularity in the family market.
She explained: "These awards recognise the most family-friendly cities as decided by millions of TripAdvisor travellers, and the UK should be proud to claim two of the European winners."
