Fog disrupted flights in Sydney
More than a dozen flights to and from Sydney Airport were disrupted by heavy fog earlier.
An airport spokeswoman said the airport had remained open and a few flights had departed and arrived during the weather disturbance on Wednesday. At the time, travellers were advised to check with airlines to find out if their booked flights were likely to be affected.
Some flights were rerouted to Melbourne and Brisbane.
Sydney Airport warned passengers to expect delays throughout Wednesday until flight schedules resumed normal operation once the fog lifted.
The disruption may well have affected the plans of many passengers, reminding them of the importance of
travel insurance cover.
Australia's Transport Management Centre reported no problems on major roads due to the fog, but poor visibility did hold up a Manly ferry on Wednesday.
