Lewis Hamilton won the 2018 Hungarian Grand Prix
The Hungarian Grand Prix is long-established as one of the highlights of the European motorsport calendar, having brought the world's quickest drivers to the Central European state every year since 1986.
The Hungarian Grand Prix is held at the Hungaroring circuit in the small town of Mogyoród, located around 25km northeast of the glitzy capital, Budapest.
Travelling to the Hungarian Grand Prix. Get affordable travel cover in a matter of minutes.
The 2019 Hungarian Grand Prix will take place on the weekend of 2-4 August. It will be a whole weekend of racing, including Formula 3, Formula 2 and, of course, the Formula 1 main event.
There are plenty of direct flights from the UK to Budapest's Ferenc Liszt International Airport, leaving from Birmingham, Leeds/Bradford, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, East Midlands, Bristol, Glasgow and Liverpool. From the capital, Mogyoród is a short train ride away.
The popularity of the Hungarian Grand Prix is hard to ignore - it was the seventh-best attended race of the year in 2018. Compared to other races, Hungary is a fairly cheap option for fans thanks to low ticket prices. Hungary itself is a great country to explore, from the imperial grandeur of Budapest to the turquoise waters of Lake Balaton.
Thanks to its location in Central Europe, Hungary enjoys very high summer temperatures so the Hungarian Grand Prix - which usually falls in early August - can get pretty hot. If you're heading to Mogyoród make sure you take plenty of sun care precautions!
