Thrill-seekers can get behind the wheel of a luxurious sports car as part of a new scheme in Sweden
Ever wondered what it's like to drive a Porsche Boxster at high speed around the Silverstone circuit? Now, holidaymakers can find out, as a replica of the circuit is to be built in Swedish Lapland.
Thrill-seekers can ride any of 23 sports cars, from a Mitsubishi EVO IX to a Corvette Z06, round the ice track, following in the tread marks of famous Formula One circuit racers.
In addition to the Silverstone track, the ice driving complex in Arjeplog includes replicas of the Ferte Gaucher and Le Castellet circuits.
Visitors can also check out two technical courses covering just over three miles, and two circular tracks designed to allow infinite drifts at speeds of up to 75mph. They can also marvel at two large skid pads of 25 acres each.
Participants should make sure their thrill-seeking adventures are covered by comprehensive travel insurance.
The new package is being launched by Laponie Ice Driving, whose 2012 season will run from January to March.
Guests can choose from a range of 16 packages offering four hours of driving per day with an instructor.
