BIBA has highlighted the importance of travel insurance to holidaymakers, saying it is as important as a suitcase
Travel insurance is as important to a holidaymaker as a suitcase is, the British Insurance Broker's Association (BIBA) has said.
Graeme Trudgill, BIBA's technical and corporate affairs executive, claims that the importance of travel insurance is only matched by how cheap it is.
He said: "Travel insurance is very, very cheap. It is certainly very cheap for a UK trip."
Mr Trudgill added that the cover a policy provides depends on "how long you're going away for [and] whether you're heading to more far out places".
He added that travel insurance policies depend on other variables including the amount a person is spending while away and the state of healthcare in the country they are visiting.
Mr Trudgill concluded by insisting that people travelling within the UK should also consider taking out adequate travel insurance cover.
