Bargain-hunting holidaymakers warned over cheap airlines

Holidaymakers looking to save money on their vacation by booking flights on budget airlines should take care to read the small print, according to one expert.
Many people find shopping around for the cheapest travel insurance deal and reserving flights on low-cost airlines as the best way to cut down on holiday costs, but an expert from Holiday Which? magazine has explained that bargain-hunters should be careful.
Claire Lilley, head of research at Holiday Which? said: "For a lot of people, price is still the main thing that makes their decision for them at the end of the day."
She said that for short haul flights in particular, people are prepared to put up with more cramped conditions to save on the price, but that they should always "read the small print carefully" when booking.
"Sometimes they [airlines] put things in and they've already ticked the box for you… so make sure you un-tick those things," she warned.
