One in seven businessmen use gadgets like a Blackberry phone or a laptop to keep in touch with the office when they go on a business trip, it has been stated.
A study conducted by American Express Insurance Services found the statistic and the head of the company Chris Rolland told only finance.com that the importance of travel insurance for business trips is increasing because of the increase in the number of gadgets being taken on these trips.
He added that holidaymakers should check their insurance policies to make sure their gadgets are covered up to the maximum price, in case they are ruined by a poolside splash.
However, not all those surveyed in the American Express study got a great deal of enjoyment out of using the gadgets.
Some 67 per cent believed that the mobile technology was 'more of a hindrance than a help'.
Even those businessmen who are going on a short break should still make sure they have travel insurance according to Norwich Union, because medical emergencies are still the biggest single cause of a travel claim.
