Consumers considering all options

Holidaymakers are "considering all their options" financially when deciding where to travel this summer, according to Midlands Co-op Travel, though this does not necessarily refer to travel insurance.
The independent travel agent claimed that consumers are beginning to consider all-inclusive deals, cruise holidays and trips to non-Eurozone destinations in an effort to reduce the cost of their vacations.
This viewpoint was supported by statistics released by http://www.skyscanner.net/ earlier this month, which disclosed that searches for Bangkok on the price comparison site have risen by 271 per cent in 2009, while traditional European destinations have experienced a fall in demand.
A spokeswoman from Midlands Co-op Travel suggested that the continent's tourism industry could be beginning to decline.
She said: "Holidaymakers are looking at all of their options not just in terms of holidays but also in terms of finances."
Last month, Hotels.com advised consumers looking to save money to seek destinations in both Turkey and Morocco, which offer great value and beneficial exchange rates.
