Luxury travel 'will always be popular'

Luxury city breaks will continue to be popular despite the ongoing impact of the recession on the travel sector, it has been claimed.
According to the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) Brits who enjoy luxury holidays will not be put off enjoying their getaways by the financial flurry which has hit the globe.
However, while such travellers may have the cash to go away regardless of the economic climate, failing to get city break travel insurance for a trip could see them out of pocket should they need medical treatment or other help on a break.
Executive director at AITO Kate Kenward said that the word luxury can have many different meanings.
"I think it is, time wise, the luxury of going to a destination where many people may not be able to go to," she noted.
A recent survey from Lonely Planet noted that in 2010, the top destinations are set to include El Salvador, Germany and Malaysia.
