Holidaymakers looking to enjoy a winter sports adventure without breaking the bank or cutting back on their ski insurance should consider heading to Bulgaria.
That is according to M&S Money, which claimed that the eastern European country provides the best value when it comes to hitting the slopes.
While the cost of a holiday to the Swiss resort of Engelberg - not including winters sports travel insurance - was found to be £585, the same activities and entertainments cost just £471 at Bulgaria's Bansko resort.
Although it is a member of the European Union, Bulgaria still operates with its own currency - the lev - so most things are cheaper than on the rest of the continent, the travel money website explained.
James Yerkess, manager of M&S Travel Money, said: "Sterling has weakened significantly against the euro in recent months, meaning Brits heading to popular resorts in Switzerland and France will notice the difference in the price of everyday items."
This February, the Telegraph newspaper suggested that winter travellers could with adequate ski or snowboard insurance could save thousands of pounds in the event of an accident.
