Marbella to host International Arts Festival
25 June 2009 15:14
Travel insurance customers heading to Marbella next week will be able to attend the first Festival Internacional de Arte (International Arts Festival).
It takes place from June 19th to 21st and will contain the works of 100 artists from around the world.
Visitors should head to the Alameda and Avenida del Mar between the town centre and beach to take in the sights and sounds of the event.
It will also feature music, dance and performance on two separate stages, with artwork being showcased in white tents.
Speaking at a recent press conference ahead of the festival, co-founder and artist Pixie Glore said she aimed to highlight the area's vibrant art scene by mirroring similar events in Miami, Florida.
Guests will be protected from the sun by a series of awnings, while children will have an activity tent to play in.
It is a free event, but travel insurance customers can pay €34 for a ticket to a fundraising cocktail party on the evening of June 18th, where they will be able to mix with artists and dignitaries.
Marbella is located on the south coast of Spain, between Malaga and Gibraltar.
