Holidaymakers considering which European country to jet off to this summer may wish to opt for Switzerland.
Although it is generally regarded as a place to visit for winter sports, experts say that it is an attractive holiday destination all year round.
Steve Thomas, managing director of Alpine Property Investments, said that because they are working villages, Swiss Alpine resorts are "full of activity" at all times.
"Outside of the winter season there is a huge array of things to do, including mountain biking, thousands of kilometres of hiking, climbing to test all levels with famous mountains like the Eiger – to test the most experienced of climbers – [and] horse riding," Mr Thomas said.
"Golf courses ranging from those in the mountain villages with breathtaking views to the annual European Masters Championship course at Crans Montana," he added.
Those who are planning to take part in sports or adventure activities abroad are urged to ensure that they have adequate travel insurance to cover them for any potential accidents.
