New Dubai Metro 'helps discover the emirate'

The new Metro which has been opened this week in Dubai will assist tourists looking to get out and explore the area, it has been pointed out.
According to Ian Scott, director at Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) in the UK and Ireland, the Dubai Metro will allow people to see areas which may not usually be accessible apart from in a taxi.
"Although taxis are not expensive, you don't really want to be doing several taxis a day everyday for your entire holiday," he noted.
Using the Metro to get around in Dubai could help Brits save money on their holiday, but cutting back on travel insurance to do this could prove to be more costly in the long run should they need to make a claim without any cover.
And it would appear that more people may be getting travel insurance and jetting off to the emirate, as figures from the DTCM showed that there has been a year-on-year increase in visitor numbers for the second quarter of this year.
