Bristol is an 'overlooked' tourist destination

The city of Bristol is a great place to go for a short break but is not somewhere that many people would consider for a holiday.

That is according to DK Eyewitness, which has suggested that Bath is often looked upon as a more favourable destination by holidaymakers.

People who do travel to the city, however, will be pleased to find that "different pockets of the city have their individual charms" spokesperson Anna Paynton said.

Those people who do decide to book a short break in Bristol would be well advised to take out a single-trip holiday insurance policy so that any possessions they have with them are protected.

Ms Paynton commented: "Bristol is often overlooked in favour of its more picturesque neighbour Bath, which tends to get a lot more attention. If you haven’t been to Bristol though you really should, the different pockets of the city have their individual charms and that’s why we included it in DK's 2009 list.

"It's a great city, and one which has undergone quite a few changes over the last few years.
