Brits 'can stay in UK for good holiday'

British people have been advised that if they are in search of a good holiday, taking a break within the UK could provide a better getaway than they might imagine.
According to Peter Hampson, director of British Resorts and Destinations, the UK is an "infinitely variable" place to take a holiday and could provide much to do all on people's doorsteps.
"The great thing about the UK is that it is infinitely variable and it's a relatively small country. There is a huge variation and generally [attractions are] not more than three or four hours away," he said.
Figures from the Office for National Statistics showed that the number of Brits who took a holiday abroad in the year ending September fell by 14 per cent.
Before they take a holiday within the UK, Brits may find it wise to get a cheap annual travel insurance policy to ensure they are at least partially financially covered for any problems they could encounter.
