Holidaymakers looking forward to a cheap camping break this summer have been warned to check their travel insurance.
Fairinvestment.co.uk has warned holidaymakers that as the popularity of camping rises as it offers a far cheaper alternative to a holiday abroad, so does the risk of loss or damage to property.
Many campers head off for trips out and leave their tents unattended and they are advised to take out travel insurance in case any property is stolen during this time.
Spokesperson for Fairinvestment.co.uk Rachael Stiles, said: "Many campers will automatically assume that items they take with them will be insured under their contents insurance.
"However, this is not always the case, which is why we are urging those who are intending to get away this weekend to check their insurance, particularly if they are taking expensive items like iPods and laptops with them."
Recent research from the Halifax found that 29 per cent of Brits are seeking a cheaper holiday this year by taking a break inside the UK.
