USA and Turkey 'top destinations'

The USA and Turkey are popular holiday destinations outside of the eurozone, according to search results published by one site.

According to the Travelnomics UK Quarterly Industry Insight Q2 report from, both destinations were in the top searches for holidays outside of the eurozone.

Cities in the USA which are popular among Brits include New York, Orlando and Boston, the website said.

When spending money on a flight to a long-haul destination, travellers may be tempted to scrimp on holiday insurance to save cash.

However, this could prove to be costly in the future, as holidaymakers without travel insurance may have to fork out to cover the expense of any problems on a getaway.

Editor at Sharron Livingston said: "No matter what the pound does, because the USA has so much to offer the holidaymaker, Brits will always be drawn there."

She went on to say that Turkey can give Brits "a great value holiday".
