Brits 'number one overseas market' for Las Vegas

British tourists are the biggest market of visitors to the city of Las Vegas, it has been said.
The city, well known for gambling and its famous Strip, attracts more overseas visitors from Britain than any other country and many head to the region to get "much needed respite" from the day to day grind of normal life, said senior vice-president of marketing at the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority Cathy Tull.
"Over the past three years, dedicated consumer programmes have been implemented which have quickly educated British travellers on the breadth of the destination's amenities," Ms Tull commented.
She noted that as a destination for tourists, Las Vegas offers a wide range of activities to take part in and places to visit, including "unparalleled shopping" and top-class entertainment and restaurants.
Earlier this week, airline British Airways announced a new direct route from London Heathrow to Las Vegas, which will fly once a day.
Before jetting off to Las Vegas, Brits may want to make sure they have enough cash in their travel budget to spend in the city's casinos, as well as for essentials like travel insurance and spending money.
