With the USA being a hotbed of activity for all kinds of traveller, from city-breakers, to extreme sports enthusiasts or road-trippers, going sooner rather than later might be a more financially viable option.
A report on Wales Online has suggested that prices to destinations such as Las Vegas are likely to increase by up to 17 per cent by next year.
The weak dollar against the pound has seen numbers of Britons visiting the US increase by more than 11 per cent.
But the rising price of oil and the cancellation of many flights between the UK and US is likely to see prices rise considerably by next year.
Speaking to Wales Today, aviation expert Martin Evans said that it would be impossible to predict just how much more expensive it would get.
Those thinking of heading to the US should make sure that they have a good level of travel insurance, as medical costs can be very expensive.
