Wedding abroad 'could prove a cheaper option'

Getting married abroad could prove to be a cheaper option than many Brits may think, one expert in such ceremonies has said.
According to Wedding magazine, depending on which destination people choose for their big day, getting hitched overseas could save Brits money on their special day.
Deputy editor of the magazine Andrea Ventress said: "A lovely chateau in France where you can have your close friends and family can be a lot cheaper."
She also noted that friends and family could use the opportunity to take a longer holiday with the wedding in between, a break which a group travel insurance policy could prove the best financial option for.
Figures from Mintel show that the number of Brits choosing to exchange
their vows abroad has risen sharply over the past six years.
In total, 16 per cent of British weddings - 51,300 - take place overseas, a rise of 43 per cent since 2003.
