Travellers want to 'experience as much as possible'

Brits taking a holiday are eager to try and experience as much as possible, one travel expert has said.

Editor of Sharron Livingston said that Brits are spoilt for choice when it comes to travel.

"The more savvy we get about what is on offer the more we want," she noted.

Wherever holidaymakers choose to take a break, travel insurance could prove to be a worthwhile buy should problems occur.

Ms Livingston also commented on the rise in popularity of beach and city destinations such as Barcelona and Tel Aviv.

Figures from online travel firm published last month show that places such as Greece, Turkey, Portugal and Tunisia are also seeing growth.

The two fastest growing destinations are both in Greece, with Rhodes and Crete both up by 27 per cent in bookings when compared to this time last year.

"City breaks are an ideal cultural mini-break and sunning in the eurozone offers sand and sea but without the hefty long-haul flight," Ms Livingston went on to say.
