UK holidaymakers are often labelled as being among the worst tourists in the world because of the problems they have with managing their drinking when overseas, according to Travelsupermarket.com.
Bob Atkinson, a travel expert for the firm, believes that a huge number of British travellers do a great job of representing the nation but there is a select minority who cannot handle their drink and make the reputation of the whole country negative.
He also states that Brits make a habit of falling over when they drink too much and are also recognised as a nation that pile drunken kids into major travel hotspots and send out a lot of stag and hen parties that fail to help the reputation.
Those that are likely to get drunk on their holidays are warned to take out a travel insurance policy to cover them in case they lose or have any property stolen on a night out.
And those that go on stag and hen parties are able to take out group travel insurance to make sure everyone is covered against any loss or damage.
As well as having the reputation of being drunks, according to Expedia's 2007 British Tourist League, Brits are the second worst dressed tourists.
