Driving travellers told of travel insurance importance

Travellers who may be driving to their holiday destinations this summer have been told that taking out travel insurance is just as important as having the right car insurance for the trip.
Ian Crowder, spokesperson for AA Insurance, has stated that drivers will need to make sure they have travel insurance in case an accident happens on the road, which may require hospital attention.
And without having suitable travel insurance, injured drivers may find themselves facing a hefty bill for their treatment once they have recovered.
Mr Crowder said: "It's important to have travel insurance in the event that the unthinkable happens.
He added that those that have a European Health Insurance card will be eligible for a basic level of medical care, but the standard may be different depending on the country.
And even those taking their annual break in the UK have been warned of the importance of travel insurance by Sainsbury's Finance.
If a person has an accident a long distance away from their home, an appropriate travel insurance policy will fly them home to get treatment.
