Although Austria is seen to be a popular destination for those heading on a skiing break, it is also just as popular for families throughout the year, according to the property specialist Investors in Property.
Jessica Delaney, who deals with Austrian sales for the firm, believes that Austria's main target audience is families because of the activities that it provides, including horse riding and cycling.
She states that families and children especially can have a lot of fun taking a bike up a ski lift to the top of a mountain and cycling the two hours it takes to get down with some nice little huts on the way which provide food and drink.
Then in the summer Austria has some specialised spa towns, with swimming pools and slides which appeal to a different kind of holidaymaker, she added.
Families looking to head for Austria to take part in skiing or other activities should make sure they are covered by family holiday insurance, a ski insurance or some sort of activity insurance in case of injury.
Figures prepared by the government department, "Statistics Austria" showed that more people visited Austria in the summer than the winter last year.
