Going on holiday can help a family become more content and stronger as a unit, the Family Holiday Association (FHA) has said.
John McDonald, director of the firm, believes that all the feedback the company has received indicates that a holiday leads to a happier stronger family.
He added that the single biggest impact that a holiday has on their families, all of which are referred to The FHA by social workers, health visitors GPs and schools, is an improvement in their mental health.
The holiday experience gives a family the opportunity to spend time together and bond, he concluded.
Despite these positives associated with a holiday, sometimes negatives like illnesses or theft occur.
A range of travel insurance packages are available to make the dealing with of these problems easier, with a specialist family holiday insurance one of these.
A recent poll from price comparison site moneysupermarket.com found that 29 per cent of Brits may decide to holiday outside of Europe this year because of the weakening of the pound against the Euro.
