Families heading off to China on holiday will welcome the arrival of a huge, new amusement park which is being built in Shanghai.
The theme park is due to open in 2010 and will be one of the biggest in the country, Labor Daily reports.
Named the Joy Valley Theme Park, the ride-filled hub will be located in north-west Shanghai, in the Sheshan resort area.
Although it is not due to be completed for two years, it is reported that some rides will be open to families as early as September 2009.
More than 6.6 million foreign travellers jetted in to Shanghai last year, according to the Shanghai Tourism Administrative Commission.
Beijing is also expected to see a boost in tourist numbers this year in the wake of the 2008 Olympic Games which are being held there in August.
Lat week, an official from the Beijing Tourism Bureau announced that the specially-made tourist map for the Olympic venues will be released in July to help travellers navigate the Games.
