'Soft' adventure focus for family holidays in 2008

Family holidays need to an injection of adventure, learning and culture to enrich the lives of children, a travel expert has claimed in the Times.

Andrew Dunn, managing director and founder of luxury holiday firm Scott Dunn, says that his company has seen a shift towards 'soft' family adventures, with many having grown bored of the beach.

"A soft family adventure is just the ticket for injecting fun, excitement, learning and passion for travel and culture into children's lives," he told the newspaper.

"Having children does not mean the end of adventure, if anything it is just the beginning."

Families are reminded that embarking on an adventure holiday always involves an element of risk so purchasing a comprehensive family travel insurance policy is a must.
