New pre-paid travellers card launched

A new pre-paid cash card has been launched which aims to make buying goods on holiday easier.
Designed by International Currency Exchange (ICE), the card should make it safer and more convenient to make purchases, regardless of where holidaymakers are in the world.
The card, which ICE says will be accepted in over 120 countries both within restaurants and shops and at ATMs, will be an alternative to debit cards, credit cards and travellers cheques.
"Once again, ICE is responding to the needs of today's travellers for easy and safe access to currency while travelling abroad," said Andrew Hamilton, head of marketing at ICE.
"Working in partnership with [issuer] Raphaels Bank, [application integrator] Medoc and [prepaid processor] Altair and using our own extensive expertise in the foreign exchange arena, we have been able to develop a prepaid card that is secure and easy to use."
The firm cites research which says there has been a 77 per cent rise in the number of the stolen credit and bank debit card details being used abroad.
Anyone heading overseas this summer should ensure they have taken out travel insurance in case they are targeted by thieves.
